Join Professor Alex Wang of the UCLA School of Law as he presents his new book on China’s global environmentalism. In the book, he chronicles how, as the United States steps back from the Paris Agreements, China is advancing a distinct model of “developmental environmentalism” that departs from Western approaches. Drawing on case studies — from clean-tech expansion and green investment in Chile, to hydropower development across Southeast Asia — Wang examines how China is reshaping global environmental governance and the geopolitical tensions that come with it.
