World jazz vocalist/bandleader Allison Adams Tucker brings together some of San Diego’s finest jazz musicians to celebrate the 15th annual International Jazz Day 2026 with stories and sounds from around the world including Brazil, France, Mexico, Africa, Cuba, Italy, Japan, and the US. Featuring Melonie Grinnell piano, Harley Magsino bass, Monette Marino percussion, Joe Amato guitars, Tripp Sprague sax/flute/harmonica, and Mike Holguin drums. Starting in 2012, UNESCO with legendary jazz pianist Herbie Hancock designated April 30 as International Jazz Day in order to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe, promoting peace, diversity, and respect for human rights and human dignity; eradicating discrimination; promoting freedom of expression; fostering gender equality; and reinforcing the role of youth in enacting social change.
