She argues that by studying the cultural and technical history of materials like red cedar, bison sinew, and turquoise, students can learn that sustainability and reciprocity are just as important as structural strength. Hiroyuki Murase, Creative Director of suzusan, will lead a special workshop to introduce the history, background, and techniques of this art. From there, this exciting new, and creatively fulfilling, endeavor began to take shape, which led to the release of the band’s eponymous debut album, Mariachi El Bronx (I), in September of 2009.
