Pianist McCoy Turner, one of the living legends of jazz, is joined by Charnett Moffett on bass and Eric Kamau Gravatt on drums for his first San Diego appearance in two decades. the last surviving member of the landmark John Coltrane Quartet of the early 1960's, Tyner evolved a powerfully original piano style that itself made jazz history, contributing a whole new harmonic vocabulary and rhythmic approach to the instrument and its role in the ensemble. There will be two seperate performances of 70 minutes each at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM with no intermission.
