Los Angeles Times photojournalist Don Bartletti has covered stories throughout California, Mexico, Central and South America, and Iraq and Afghanistan. in 2003, he received the Pulitzer Prize for Enrique's Journey. MoPA is proud to present this series in its entirety. As a border town, San Diego is an appropriate place to exhibit this timely and moving six-part series about a boy who loses his mother and sets out on a perilous journey to find her. in the vast movement of people from Central America and Mexico, Enrique is one of 48,000 children who come to the United States alone each year. Attending programming will include a lecture by the photographer, as well as invitations to speak by city leaders, and migration experts and scholars. This event will be held from October 1, 2006 to January 7, 2006.
