Time for Mochitsuki! Mochi is sweet, glutinous rice that is washed, steamed, ground, pounded with mallets, cooled, and shaped into little round "cakes," then used in variety of recipes. Make mochi in traditional manner all day on Sunday, December 17. Labor-intensive process to create about 2500 pounds of mochi is annual fundraiser. Spend all day or just an hour.
