The UCSD International Center and our wonderful sponsor, The Torrey Pines Rotary Club, presents World Renowned Chef, Michel Stroot. Michel Stroot served as the Executive Chef of the Golden Door Resort for over 30 years and was the first spa chef ever to be nominated for the prestigious James Beard Award. In 2005 he also received the esteemed Silver Spoon Award. Michel?s food is famous for its high flavor, light cuisine. ?The Golden Door Cooks Light and Easy? (Michel?s sequel to his groundbreaking ?Golden Door Cookbook?) was released with wide acclaim and also nominated by the AICP. Michel, a pioneer in the field of healthy cooking, has been praised by distinguished food critics in such publications as the New York Times Gourmet and Vogue Magazine. This wonderful chef is now retired after more than 50 years in the kitchen and we are lucky that he has graciously agreed to prepare this exciting menu for the UCSD community.
