Flamenco Fire

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Camarada reprises one of their most popular programs: Flamenco Fire! Flutist Beth Ross-Buckley and guitarist Fred Benedetti perform ten flamenco-inspired works. Jacques Iberts Entracte conjures the image of a dancer's fiery footwork and whirling skirts, followed by Enrique Granados' nostalgic and tender Danza Triste. Flamenco dance will bring Manuel de Falla's El Pa?o Moruno (The Moorish Cloth) to life, after which the guitar takes center stage in Juan Serrano's Tempestad. Maurice Ravel's Piece en Forme de Habanera, composed for voice and piano, gets a fresh perspective with the flute and guitar. Taking a break from this spirited dance music, we hear Joaquin Rodrigo's simple and light-hearted Serenata al Alba del Dio (Serenade to the Dawn). Flamenco dance will accompany the flute and guitar in Fred Benedetti's Granadinas. Christopher Caliendo celebrates the journeying spirit of the gypsy caravans in his Jai for flute and guitar. Fred Benedetti performs his Tarantas on solo guitar. The program closes with Manuel de Falla's La Vie Br?ve -- because life is too short not to dance!
