In Search of Tongan Goddesses
In conjunction with the SANA Art Foundation, SDMA is proud to present a rare opportunity to hear renowned Oceanic art scholar and curator of ethnology at the Auckland Museum, Dr. Roger Neich. He will present an insightful talk on rare carved wooden sculptures of Tongan goddesses, of which only six have survived. The lecture will be preceded by a kava ceremony and nose flute music by Tongan artist, musician, and educator, Semisi Ma'u.
