Making Sashiko Purse

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Sew a Japanese inspired purse in the serenity of the Japanese Garden! This purse is made of navy blure Japanese coton fabric, and is embellished with a simple white sashiko stitch pattern.

Participants will then sew their sashiko fabric into a purse using their own sewing machine. All participants will need to bring a sack lunch, sewing machine, extenshion cord, scissors for cutting fabric, scissors for hand sewing, needle threader, hand sewing needles, thimble, 2 empty bobbins, a spool of dark navy blue thread, sewing pins, white fabric tracing paper, and 1/2 yard pre-washed 100% cotton print that has a Japanese style motif. This fabric will be used to line the purse and accent the outside of the purse, as well. Select a fabric that coordinates well with navy blue.
All other supplies to make the purse will be provided and are included in the class fee.
