Dzveli He (pronounced dez-ve-li-he) is a performance group, which plays contemporary folk music influenced by Scandinavian, Irish/Celtic and Eastern European folk traditions. The band was founded by composer/mandolinist, Chris Acquavella, in order to bring new innovative folk music to the music industry. Dzveli He is a live incarnation of Chris' compositions where the traditions of Scandinavian, Eastern European and Irish folk music meet the solid rhythmical traditions of contemporary music styles. The band is made up of 8 jazz and classical musicians, all of whom have extensive experience performing with various folk and contemporary bands. The instrumentation consists of vocals, guitar, mandolin, oboe, clarinet, violin, double bass and percussion.
