In Honor of Charles Chuck Leslie Walker
Distinction Gallery is proud to host this most special gathering of artists to pay tribute to the artistic spirit and likewise honor the memory and life of Charles Leslie Walker. There will be an opening reception on August 9th from 6-11:00 PM featuring live music, donated catered food by A Taste of Florence, and beer provided by Karl Strauss. This showing will be presented auction style and will run for one week. Pieces that do not sell for the ?must have it price? (2x above retail) will also be for auction on Ebay after opening night. The artwork will be on display for a month long.
We are hoping you will share in this community event and experience some exceptional artistic works that benefit a most worthy cause. Over 100 artists from around the world will be participating in this exhibition and 100% of gallery profits will benefit the Lewy Body Dementia Association.

Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a progressive brain disease and the second leading cause of degenerative dementia in the elderly. The clinical name, ?dementia with Lewy bodies? (DLB), accounts for up to 20% of all dementia cases, or 800,000 patients in the US. Over 50% of Parkinson?s disease patients develop ?Parkinson?s disease dementia? (PDD), which accounts for at least 750,000 patients. (PDD is also a Lewy body dementia.)

Distinction is a 7000 square foot building which houses a gallery and 14 artist studios ranging in size from 150 to 800 square feet. The Gallery features contemporary and cutting edge art work with a soft focus on Urban Surrealism. Distinction exhibits work by emerging and internationally acclaimed artists.
