52 Annual Oktoberfest Dance Event

The International Folk Dance Clubs will host its 52nd Annual Oktoberfest dance event on September 13 and 14 in the Balboa Park Club Building (west of the International Cottages). The entire weekend will be a FREE, family friendly event. Learn the basics of folkdance, Polka, Waltz and Schottische. The FREE Beginners' Workshop will be taught throughout the afternoon of Saturday September 13 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM for all ages. There will be partner dances but no partner required to attend. A family oriented FREE Oktoberfest Dance Festival will be held on Sunday, September 14 from 12:30 to 4:30 PM Many dancers in colorful national costumes will crowd the decorated ballroom doing German and other international dances. There will be special dance performances also. At 1:00 PM everyone will be invited to participate in the Grand March, and to continue learning and dancing on several occasions during the afternoon. German food and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered at reasonable prices in the outer lobby plus folk arts and crafts vendors will be present.'
