A heartwarming Jewish love story from Latin America!
(In Spanish with English subtitles)

A crowd-pleaser at the recent 2008 San Diego Latino Film Festival, El Brindis stars Mexican film and telenova star Ana Serradilla (Amas de casa Desesperadas). A woman journeys from her home in Mexico to be reunited with her Chilean father. Along the way, she meets and begins a forbidden relationship with the rabbi who is preparing her father for his long awaited Bar Mitzvah. This comedy about three lives searching for meaning just recently had it's theatrical release in Chile.

Ethan van Thillo, Executive Director of Media Arts Center San Diego, states, We???re happy to bring back El Brindis to San Diego. As this year???s Audience Award winner, it???s great to be able to offer more local residents the opportunity to see it. Mexican television and film star, Ana Serradilla, is super in this film and lights-up the screen.

El Brindis will screen for one-week only exclusively at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center (off the 163 Freeway and Friars Rd.). Run time: 100 minutes.

Screening times are: 11:30am, 1:45pm, 4:00pm, 6:15pm, 8:30pm, and 10:45pm. (Note: 10:45pm screenings only on Friday & Saturday)

Tickets are $9.50 General Audiences / $7.50 Students, seniors & Media Arts Center San Diego members. Individual tickets can be purchased prior to each screening.
