Vel??zquez in the Basement: A Study in Art Historical Method

John Marciari, curator of Italian and Spanish paintings and head of provenance research, describes his rediscovery of a painting, which appears to be a lost early altarpiece by Diego Velazquez, for new Even Encounters: Art, Culture, and Conversation series. San Diego Union Tribune art critic Robert Pincus will interview Marciari on this find, Leon Santoro of Orfila Winery offers Italian wine tasting before lecture.
