The Grossmont Symphony Orchestra, along with the Grossmont Master Chorale, the Grossmont Gospel Choir, the Choirs of Helix High School, Mt. Miguel High School and Morse High School, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Choir of San Diego, present "African-Americana," an afternoon in celebration of Black History Month. Featured works are William Grant Still’s "Symphony No. 1 ’Afro-American’," Dett’s "The Chariot Jubliee," Richens’ arrangement of "Joshua Fit de Battle o’ Jericho," Jones’ "Seek the Lord," Davis and Knight’s "Mighty Long Way," and Smallwood’s "Total Praise." Featured soloists are Ken Anderson, tenor, and Michael Morgan, bass.
