La Jolla Music Society continues their dance series with performance by Shen Wei Dance Arts. The program includes The Rite of Spring, set to Stravinsky's powerful score, and Re (Part One).
Choreographer for the 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremonies and a 2007 winner of a MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Grant, Shen Wei's choreography pushes the boundaries of modern dance. Vibrant and visually stunning, Shen Wei Dance Arts is a unique fusion of dance, theater and Chinese Opera.
