WorldBeat Center presents a big Lions of Kush tour featuring Abja, Tuff Lion, Ras Attitude & Volcano in concert!
Abja is a multi-talented singer, singjay, songwriter, and producer hailing from St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. While Inna Red I Hour is Abja's first full-length release, he has been polishing his studio skills and sharing his gifts with audiences in NYC for several years, as a former vocalist and producer with the Survival Soundz crew out of Brooklyn. Abja continues to redefine the meaning of Rebel Music and erase the boundaries placed on true reggae. Rebel Music is the focus, and freedom and upliftment of African people is the mission. When listening to the voice and musical compositions of Abja, the first that comes to mind in how he captures a real blues feeling to his music while keeping the rhythms rootsy all the way through.
Tuff Lions musical voices have been heard the world over with appearances on many of the popular releases that have been played consistently within the reggae industries “top ten” internet broadcasts. As a major contributor to the roots renaissance movement coming from the U.S. Virgin Islands, he has recorded extensively with artists on both Mt. Nebo Records and the I-Grade Records labels. The works of this “passionate” musician are broad and include solid performances on a variety of instruments, as well as songwriting and production. Excellent backing vocals also appear. His lead guitar work is stunning!
Ras Attitude is both a singer and a chanter. Originating from the Sound VIZion stable, he combines some sweet vocals (that remind many of Dennis Brown) along with some wicked chants to create a sound that has something to please all listeners. Ras Attitude has released 5 full albums to date: Happiness, Love Life, Holding Firm, Royal Lionage and his latest release Trodding Home. He also contributed songs to the Culturellennium and Culturellennium II compilations.
