San Diego Latino Film Festival is proud to present its 10th Annual Cinema en tu Idioma Film Series showcasing new Latin American, Mexican and Spanish Cinema. The 4-month series will begin this upcoming August with the screening of CASI DIVAS, starring among others Maya Zapata, Julio Bracho and Ana Layevska, August 21-27 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas.
In this Mexican musical comedy, four ambitious and beautiful young women from different parts of Mexico begin a journey on the road to fame when Alejandro Mateos (Julio Bracho), a powerful producer, dreams up a nationwide talent search to cast the lead in his next big movie. In Mexico, it opened at number one at the box office and was among the top five grossing films of 2008. Music scored by popular composer Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Angels & Demons).
Also happening Saturday, Aug. 22nd: Workshop w/ Director Issa Lopez for local filmmakers at MEDIA ARTS Center San Diego, 10AM-12PM
