This concert features Christopher Acquavella, a classical mandolinist, in a program for mandolin and guitar called Historia del Mandolino. The program traces the history of the mandolin with music ranging from the baroque to the classical, romantic, and contemporary eras. Mandolin and guitar are a wonderful combination. Both have plucked strings, but the different sonorities blend together beautifully. Chris Acquavella has performed at major venues across Europe and America both in a solo and chamber music capacity. Until October 2006, Chris performed and recorded with the contemporary music ensemble Izbuha, including performances at Blackheath Halls and the Sunrise Music Festival in Glastonbury, England. The concert will be held in the Community Room of the Scripps Ranch Library Center.
