In conjunction with their current exhibit The Civil War 150, the Central Library is screening this 2002 documentary which traces the complex history and culture of the Black Seminoles, descendants of Seminole Indians and African slaves who migrated from Florida to Texas to Mexico. Their heritage is in jeopardy of extinction as the young generation has lost touch with the old ways and the elders who practiced them.
The film is 60 minutes and not rated. A discussion will follow the screening.
