Bian Liunian is one of the world's premiere exponents of the erhu, also known as the two-stringed Chinese fiddle. He is widely acknowledged in music circles as the "Chinese Music Wizard" and can play over 200 instruments. He is the musical producer behind many spectacular music events including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games closing ceremony.
For this rare U.S. performance, Mr. Bian opens with a traditional performance on the erhu with a special guest on the guzhang. For the second half, and under the musical direction of Scott Tibbs, Bian will be joined by a jazz quartet for a musical fusion experience like no other.
While well-established in China, Bian is just emerging on the American music scene. His bold experiments to create new music put him in an all-star class of his own.
Admission/Cost:
Saturday, October 17 - 7:00 PM
