Our celebration of LOW instruments continues with an exploration of the Australian didgeridoo! Join composer and multi-instrumentalist Randin Graves for a one-man show about his journey with the didgeridoo. From United States suburbs to remote northern Australia and back again, he shares images, video and music along the way. This fun and educational performances is great for all ages.
Randin Graves is one of the world's leading non-Aboriginal exponents of the Australian didgeridoo. He has played with diverse musicians from classical chamber ensembles to Aboriginal elders and has given presentations on the instrument everywhere from United States elementary schools to the National Museum of Australia. As an Australian-American Fulbright scholar and manager of the esteemed Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Art Centre in the remote Aboriginal township of Yirrkala, Randin, he is an appointed ambassador of the instrument and its culture.
