The German American San Diego Foundation invites you to attend the 6th Annual Festival of German Film 2016 in San Diego.

On Saturday evening, October 22nd, the Festival will kick off at 6:00 PM with a Pre-Film VIP Champagne Reception on the rooftop terrace of the San Diego Natural History Museum (theNat) in Balboa Park. At 7:30pm, the opening film "ICH UND KAMINSKI (Me and Kaminski)" will be screened at theNAT's state-of-the-art digital movie theater. The screening will be followed by a Q&A discussion with the director Wolfgang Becker and a Gala Reception at theNAT's atrium with German Food and drinks.

Schedule of Films:

• 10:30 AM to Heidi (Children's Matinee)
Switzerland (2015) The classic Swiss children's story of Heidi, her grandfather (Bruno Ganz), and their beloved Alpine home returns to the screen for a new generation, and offers a fresh take on the young heroine with authentic depictions of the era.

• 1:30 PM to Offline - Das Leben Ist Kein Bonuslevel (Offline - Are you ready for the next level?) (Family Matinee)
Germany (2015) In this turbulent coming-of-age adventure, computer gamer Jan gets hacked by an opponent and has to go out on a journey through the real world. Teaming up with feisty gamer Karo, the two teenagers have to overcome many obstacles before discovering their true identity.

• 4:00 PM to 24 Wochen (24 Weeks)
Germany (2016) Comedian Astrid (Julia Jentsch) is six months pregnant and confronted with a heart-wrenching decision. She and her husband Marcus (Bjarne M?del) have a choice to make, but struggle to answer the impossible: "Who decides whether a child will have a life worth living?"

• 7:00 PM to Ich Bin Dann Mal Weg (I'm Off Then: Losing and Finding Myself on the Camino de Santiago)
Germany (2015) Celebrated TV star Hape (Devid Striesow) takes a sabbatical to embark on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, the famed spiritual path of St. James' Way. Filled with the comedian's self-deprecating sense of humor and shot at beautiful historic locations, the film is about finding and seeking - amusing, moving and emotional.
